Fundraising in memory of Dessie Clarke

My Story

August 2022 my brother and i lost our dad to Huntington's Disease after caring for him for 14 years. He was diagnosed in 2008 with  CAG repeat of 45. My brother and i spent 14 years caring for dad until he lost his battle.

I have been actively involved with the Huntingtons Disease community for many years, volunteering with different organisations, speaking at events, on raido, podcasts and TV. It has been a great way to get through the tough days as i have made so many friends within the Huntingtons community.

I want to give back to a charity which has supported my family and i so much over the years, that is why we chose HDYO for our fundraiser this year.

We have decided to organise a Burger Run in memory of him on his 2nd year anniversary.  We love getting out on our bikes and thought it was a great way to remember dad. He was full of life, and loved an adventure.

We invite anyone from the Island of Ireland with a bike to join us on September 1st for an 80mile ride. After you will enjoy a yummy burger and cup of tea!
